3 Tips for Bible Journaling (even if you can't draw)

Uncategorized Apr 13, 2026

Have you been thinking about starting your own journey into Bible journaling, but feeling a bit hesitant because you don’t consider yourself artistic?

Don’t worry! I’m here to tell you that you absolutely can Bible journal like a pro—even if you can’t draw a stick figure to save your life! 😄

Today, I want to share three simple tips to help you get the most out of Bible journaling, no artistic skills required.

1. Incorporate Stickers and Washi Tape

Let’s kick things off with a little secret weapon—stickers and washi tape! These little beauties can instantly add color, texture, and personality to your journaling pages without requiring any artistic talent whatsoever.

Whether you’re highlighting a verse with a cute sticker or framing a passage with colorful washi tape, the possibilities are endless. Try colorful alphabet stickers too—they’re a great way to add both color and meaningful content to your page.

2. Use Printables and Traceables

Say hello to your new best friends—printables and traceables!

3. Focus on Words and Typography

Who says Bible journaling has to be all about fancy artwork?

Sometimes, all it takes is a little creativity with words and typography to make your journaling pages pop. Experiment with different fonts, lettering styles, and text layouts to create visually appealing designs that highlight the beauty of God’s Word.

Bonus Tip: Practice Gratitude Journaling

One of my favorite ways to incorporate Bible journaling into my daily routine is through gratitude journaling.

Simply jotting down a few things you’re grateful for each day can be incredibly powerful—and you don’t need any artistic skills to do it! Whether you’re writing out your blessings in a simple list or adding a splash of color with some markers, gratitude journaling is a beautiful way to connect with God and cultivate a heart of thankfulness.

So there you have it—three simple tips to help you enjoy Bible journaling, even if you’re like me and doodle better than you draw. 😊

Remember, the most important thing is to record what God is teaching you so you can review it later and draw closer to Him along the way.
